On Thursday, 10 April, MAJ Ryan Bell, Deputy Director of the Combating Terrorism Center, participated as a briefer for the New York National Guard 2014 Joint Intelligence and Security Conference at Fort Hamilton, New York. MAJ Bell provided an overview of the CTC, led a discussion on past research and current lines of effort, and discussed ways for the CTC to support current and future operations in the Tri-State area. Participants included personnel from the NYNG J2 and J3, DHS, USCG, Army G2, NYPD, New York Port Authority, AIG, ARSIC, DoS and FBI. The discussion afterwards focused on the CTC’s Practitioner Education Program and current research on Africa and Crime-Terror Networks. The Center has been invited to participate again next year.
