On 19 November, CTC faculty and 48 cadets enrolled in SS464: Homeland Security & Defense, SS465: Terrorism, and SS466: Combating Terrorism traveled to New York City to learn about the historical and current threat of terrorism. The group visited the 9/11 Memorial and toured the Museum, gleaning insights into the profound and lasting impact of September 11th on the nation.
Following this moving experience, the group had the opportunity to visit the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force at the New York Field Office. In engaging with Special Agent in Charge for the Counterterrorism Division, Bryan Paarman, as well as other leaders of the task force, they learned about the structure of this diverse team, how the threat of terrorism has evolved over time, and the most pressing current and future challenges in the realm of national security.
