On 16 November, cadets in CTC Director LTC Bryan Price’s Combating Terrorism course were featured in an article by Advertising Age that highlighted their recent visit to Buzzfeed’s New York City headquarters. The cadets met with Buzzfeed’s World Editor Hayes Brown and publicist Katie Rayford during the visit to discuss the company’s strategies for creating and capturing public interest. This meeting supported the class’ ongoing project for “Peer 2 Peer: Challenging Extremism,” a private-public initiative under the auspices of the U.S. State Department that challenges college students across the world to develop social media/digital strategies that counter violent extremism.
