The Combating Terrorism Center led a group of selected terrorism studies cadets to Washington D.C. for a 3-day trip. The purpose of this trip was to provide the cadets with unique insights into the U.S. government’s interagency effort on counterterrorism. During the trip, the cadets met with numerous senior leaders, including Mr. Nick Rasmussen (National Security Council Director for Counterterrorism), Mr. John Brennan (Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Counterterrorism), General (Retired) James Jones (National Security Advisor), Undersecretary Stuart Levy (Treasury Department Undersecretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence), and Ambassador Daniel Benjamin (State Department Ambassador at-Large for Counterterrorism).
We Teach: As an institution, we embrace the unique responsibility to prepare cadets to think critically about the challenges they will face during war and peace. To this end, the Center directs multiple graduate-level seminars on Terrorism and Counterterrorism and administers a minor in terrorism studies that focuses on an interdisciplinary approach to understanding these complex issues.
