On 25 May, CNN will broadcast an hour-long documentary by Christiane Amanpour about Aimen Dean, a former jihadist and member of al Qaeda who became a spy for the West. “CNN Special Report: A Double Life: The Spy Inside Al Qaeda with Christiane Amanpour” is based on CTC Sentinel Editor in Chief Paul Cruickshank’s new book, Nine Lives: My Time as the West’s Top Spy Inside al-Qaeda, which he co-authored with Tim Lister and is due out in early June. Both Cruickshank and Lister are featured in the program.
