Prof. Thomas Hegghammer, current Zukerman fellow at Stanford University’s Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC), visited West Point on February 25th. In addition to meeting with CTC faculty and a roundtable with members of the SOSH department, Prof. Hegghammer delivered a lecture to Terrorism Minors as well as students in SS465. The lecture drew from Prof. Hegghammer’s most recent academic publication, an article in the American Political Science Review, entitled “Should I Stay or Should I Go?” which discusses why some jihadist fighters choose to conduct operations at home and why others go abroad to fight.
