On August 5-6, 2010, Dr. Assaf Moghadam, Director of Terrorism Studies and Assistant Professor at the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point, participated in a two-day conference on terrorist innovation hosted by the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. Dr. Moghadam, who shared a panel with CNN terrorism analyst Peter Bergen, presented a paper titled “Terrorist Innovation: The Case of 9/11.”
We Teach: As an institution, we embrace the unique responsibility to prepare cadets to think critically about the challenges they will face during war and peace. To this end, the Center directs multiple graduate-level seminars on Terrorism and Counterterrorism and administers a minor in terrorism studies that focuses on an interdisciplinary approach to understanding these complex issues.
