On October 6, 2010, Prof. Bruce Hoffman, Professor at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and Senior Fellow at the Combating Terrorism Center, addressed a combined group of cadets enrolled in SS465 (Terrorism and Counterterrorism) and the Terrorism Minor Program. Titled “Al Qaeda’s Strategy of Attrition,” Prof. Hoffman provided a current and comprehensive look at al-Qaida’s international dimension, adaptive strategy, and implications for U.S. policy.
We Teach: As an institution, we embrace the unique responsibility to prepare cadets to think critically about the challenges they will face during war and peace. To this end, the Center directs multiple graduate-level seminars on Terrorism and Counterterrorism and administers a minor in terrorism studies that focuses on an interdisciplinary approach to understanding these complex issues.
