Major Rudy Weisz graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2012 with a BS in Economics and Russian. Commissioned as an Infantry officer, his first assignment was in the 173rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team where he served as a Weapons Platoon Leader, Weapons Company Executive Officer, and Battalion Logistics Officer. While serving in the 173rd, Rudy deployed in support of Operation Fearless Guardian to Ukraine.
After earning his Green Beret, Rudy was assigned to 10th Special Forces Group. He deployed twice to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. As Detachment Commander of SFOD-A 0215, he and his detachment conducted combat operations across seven provinces. Most recently, Rudy served as a Small Group Leader and Team Chief at the Maneuver Captains Career Course.
Rudy is pursuing a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy at The Fletcher School, Tufts University in Medford, MA, where he lives with his partner, Alexandra, and their golden retriever, Scottie.
