Major Kyle Thompson is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2010 as an Engineer officer. As a platoon leader with the 9th Engineer Battalion in Germany, Kyle deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Kyle then served as an aide-de-camp for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ North Atlantic Division.
As a Special Forces Officer, Kyle served as a Detachment Commander in the 5th Special Forces Group, where he deployed to Syria in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Following his time as a Detachment Commander, Kyle commanded the Headquarters Company for the 5th Special Forces Group.
Kyle is currently a student pursuing a Master’s of International Policy with a concentration in cybersecurity. He is married to Eman and they have two children Genna and Maria.
