Major Jim Keirsey commissioned Infantry in June of 2001. His military schooling includes the Infantry Officer’s Basic Course, Infantry Captain’s Career Course, Airborne School, Ranger School, Jumpmaster School, and Air Assault School.

Major Keirsey’s assignments include Rifle Platoon Leader in the 1st Battalion of the 327th Infantry Brigade, 101st Division (Air Assault). Major Keirsey then served in 3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment as a Ranger Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer. Following the Infantry Captain’s Career Course, Major Keirsey served as the Assistant S3, S3, and as a Rifle Company Commander in the 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment. Major Keirsey then served as the S3 Air and Headquarters’ Company Commander at 2nd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. Major Keirsey has deployed eight times in support of the Global War on Terror.

Major Keirsey’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Purple Heart, and the Army Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters and the valor device. Major Keirsey is the recipient of the Ranger Tab, Expert Infantry Man’s Badge, Senior Parachutist Wings, Air Assault Badge, and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge.
