Major David Sprague is a native of Ventura, CA. He received his commission from the United States Military Academy in 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in System Engineering.

Following completion of basic officer training at Fort Benning, GA, David was assigned to Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA, where he served in 4th Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment as a rifle platoon leader and rifle company executive officer, and 2d Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment as a Ranger Rifle platoon leader. Following completion of the Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, David was assigned to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK, where he served in 3rd Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment as a staff officer and company commander. David was then assigned to 2d Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment where he served as a staff officer and company commander. Following completion of the Downing Scholarship, David was assigned to 1st Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division where he served as the operations officer for the 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment and as the Brigade Executive Officer. David has deployed six times to Afghanistan in both conventional and special operations capacities.

His military education includes the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course, Ranger School, Airborne School, and the U.S. Army Jumpmaster School.
