MAJ David Michelson received his commission from the United States Military Academy in 2008 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Economics. MAJ Michelson’s first assignment was as a Stryker Platoon Leader in 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. MAJ Michelson was then assigned to 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment where he served as a Ranger Rifle Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer. Upon completion of the Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, he reported to 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Ft. Carson, Colorado where he served as an Assistant Operations Officer and Rifle Company Commander. MAJ Michelson then served as an Assistant Operations Officer and Bravo Company Commander for 2d Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. He has deployed eight times in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, Resolute Support, and Inherent Resolve. MAJ Michelson will attend the Harvard Kennedy School for a master’s degree in public policy.
