
Major Chris Cioffoletti is a native of Armonk, New York. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2014 with a B.S. in Economics and commissioned as an Infantry Officer.
In his first assignment, Chris served as a Rifle and Mortar Platoon Leader in 2nd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Chris then served as aide-de-camp to the Chief of Infantry at Fort Benning, Georgia, and subsequently as Special Assistant to the Deputy Director for Special Operations and Counterterrorism (DDSO) on the Joint Staff in The Pentagon.
Following completion of the Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, Chris served as a staff officer and Heavy Weapons Company Commander in 1st Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He then returned to Fort Benning, Georgia, as a staff officer and the Bravo Company Commander in 3rd Ranger Battalion.
Chris has deployed six times in support of the global war on terror.
Chris’ military education includes Ranger Regimental Assessment and Selection Program, Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course, Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, Ranger School, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Pathfinder School, Jumpmaster Course, Infantry Mortar Leader Course and Naval Special Warfare Ground Force Commander’s Course. He also serves as a Term Member with the Council on Foreign Relations and as a National Security Innovation Scholar with The Gordian Knot Center for National Security Innovation.
Chris’ wife Tyler works as a family medicine physician, and they reside in Palo Alto with their daughter. As a General Wayne A. Downing Scholar, he is currently pursuing a Master’s in International Policy with a specialization in Cyber Policy and Security at Stanford University.
