Captain Tymothy (Ty) Boyle is a native of International Falls, MN. Ty graduated from the University of North Dakota where he earned a Masters of Science in Applied Economics Degree while also being an Academic All-American Football Player. After signing as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2011, Captain Boyle worked as an Advance Associate for the Executive Office of the Presidents where he supported travel of the Vice President until July of 2013. In 2013, Ty enlisted in the Army and commissioned as an Infantry Officer through Office Candidate School.

Ty served in the 173rd as Platoon Leader where he operationally deployed to Ukraine in support of Operation Fearless Guardian and Lithuania in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. As a Lieutenant, he was selected to serve in the 75th Ranger Regiment where he deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and twice deployed to Afghanistan. Following his time as an executive officer in First Ranger Battalion, he commanded in 1-38IN, 1SBCT before returning to First Ranger Battalion. From 2021-2024, Ty deployed 4 more times with First Ranger Battalion in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.

Ty has received the Ralph Puckett Leadership Award at from the Maneuver Center of Excellence in 2021, and won the Army’s Best Ranger Competition in 2022. He currently lives in Savannah, Georgia, with his wife, Madeline, and son, Beau.
