Captain Nicholas Tallant graduated from Georgetown University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After four years in corporate finance, he commissioned as an Infantry Officer in 2006 through Officer Candidate School. Nick was first assigned to 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division at Fort Lewis, Washington, where he served as a Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Battalion Logistics Officer, and Battalion Operations Officer. As a Platoon Leader, he deployed to Southern Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Upon completion of training as a Special Forces Officer in 2011, Nick served with 3rd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Carson, Colorado, as a Detachment Commander and Company Executive Officer. He deployed four times in support of named contingency operations and security cooperation missions in Central Africa, East Africa, and Eastern Europe. Subsequently, Nick was assigned to U.S. Special Operations Command North as the Aide-de-Camp to the Commander. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Special Forces Tab, Ranger Tab, Combat and Expert Infantryman Badges, Senior Parachutist Badge, Special Operations Diving Supervisor Badge, Air Assault Badge, and multiple foreign jump wings. He and his wife Nicole, both California natives, have four children.
