Captain Lyndi Barrett is a native of Calera, OK, and commissioned as a Field Artillery officer from the United States Military Academy in 2015. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Management from West Point.

During her first assignment at the 82nd Airborne Division, Lyndi served as a Fire Direction Officer and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. She also served as a Battery Executive Officer and Company Fire Support Officer. Following the Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course, Lyndi commanded Bravo Battery, 3rdBrigade Combat Team at Fort Campbell, KY. She was then selected to command The Sabalauski Air Assault School which encompasses Air Assault School, Pathfinder, Rappel Master, FRIES/SPIES, and the Division’s Pre-Ranger Courses at Fort Campbell, KY. Lyndi conducted operations throughout Europe to include Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece in that role. She currently serves as the Battalion Fire Support Officer with 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne).

Her military education includes the Field Artillery Basic Officer Leader’s Course, Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course, Ranger School, Sapper School, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Air Assault School, Pathfinder School, Rappel Master, and Joint Fires Observer. Her notable awards include the Expert Soldier Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, the Order of St. Maurice, and the Order of St. Barbara. She was awarded the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award in 2023.

Lyndi is married to CPT Jordan Dix of Richmond, VA, who is also a Field Artillery Captain.
