Captain Joe Wishart commissioned from the University of Texas at Austin in May of 2012 as an Infantry Officer. His military education includes the Infantry Officer’s Basic Course, Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, Airborne School, Ranger School, Jumpmaster School, Pathfinder School, and the Joint Military Free Fall School.

Captain Wishart’s assignments began in 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry Regiment at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska where he served as a rifle and heavy weapons platoon leader and S3 Air. Captain Wishart then served in the 75th Ranger Regimental Headquarters as the command group operations officer. Captain Wishart then commanded a Stryker company in 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment at Fort Carson, Colorado. In 2021, Captain Wishart returned to the 75th Ranger Regiment where he served as the assistant planner and operations officer for the Regimental Special Troops Battalion. Captain Wishart currently commands the Regimental Reconnaissance Company. Captain Wishart has deployed twice in support of the Global War on Terror.

Captain Wishart also holds a master’s in business administration. He is married to the former Joanna Yvonne Lemm who works as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Together, Joe and Joanna have three children: Adelaide, Eleanor, and Nolan.
