Captain Austen Boroff is a native of Chatham, NJ, and commissioned as a Field Artillery officer from the United States Military Academy in 2014. She holds a Master of Science in marketing with a concentration in marketing analytics from the University of Alabama and a bachelor’s degree in International History (Honors) from USMA.
During her first assignment at the 101st Airborne Division, Austen served as a platoon leader and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Following the Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course, Austen commanded the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 2nd Infantry Division Artillery at Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA. She currently commands the Army’s only Hypersonic Weapon Battery. This experimental unit, focused on the research and development of long-range hypersonic capabilities, seeks to provide a critical deterrence function in the Indo-Pacific Theatre.
