A letter captured on June 7, 2006 from an Al-Qa’ida safe house in Iraq sheds new light on the friction between Al-Qa`ida’s senior leadership and al-Qa`ida’s commanders in Iraq over the appropriate use of violence. His letter echoes many of the themes found in the letter written to Zarqawi by Ayman al-Zawahiri.
