These barely-legible letters are reports written about the situation in Somalia as it pertains to establishing al-Qa`ida training camps there. The first report briefly suggests recruiting local Somalis for training. Most geographical references are for the northern portion of Somalia, and the easternmost section of Ethiopia. A portion of the first letter is an account of a battle that took place after the group was attacked. The author also refers to meetings he has had with other“companies”, some of which have recently reorganized. Finally, he takes an introspective look at the positive and negative factors affecting the overall“Jihad” in the region, making suggestions for what he perceives as weaknesses.
